Since the foundation of ALWIT in 1954 by Alfred Wittig in Wesel (Germany) and the relocation in 1965 to Emmerich-Elten, the focus is set on heat protection.

Over the years, we did accumulate an enormous knowledge in this area. This knowledge does not only benefit our products and customers, it is also applied for the work on standardization processes on a national, European and international level.  

Our program includes heat and flame protective clothing for fire brigades and industry. A special emphasis is put on the production of multifunctional protective clothing.

ALWIT is certified according to ISO 9001: 2015 and is a member of the NOMEX® Partner Program, which DuPont arranges with selected companies to ensure the highest quality.

Declaration of principles of the quality policy

Ever since the aim was to manufacture and offer products of highest quality in order to satisfy the customer. At the same time, the today so often quoted „risk assessment“, was the basis for the development of user-specific personal protective equipment. The contact to the customers, suppliers, testing institutes and the cooperation in different standardization committees guarantees the fact that ALWIT products are the state of the art and correspond to the European directive.

In order to achieve these goals the corporate processes in the organizational, technical and commercial area are arranged according to the principles of DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. Our goal is to raise our quality by decreasing complaints and improving the information flow.

The highest priority of the general management of ALWIT is to reach these goals and to improve constantly. In order to do so the analysis and supply of instruments for the introduction and implementation of this system and further quality-assurance or quality improving arrangements are made.

The management manual defines all organizational and operational processes that have a direct effect on the quality of the products and the services. Each employee is responsible for the planning, controlling and monitoring of these activities.

Each employee is informed about the following guiding principles of the quality policy of ALWIT GmbH:

• processing of orders in time
• offering an optimal cost/performance ratio

Founded 1954 by ALFRED WITTIG, the family-run business ALWIT GmbH in Emmerich succesfully manufactures heat protective clothing and gloves to take care of the safety for employees and teams during hot actions in industry and fire brigades.

Due to the permanent own technical innovation, ALWIT has gained an excellent reputation on national and international markets.

All our personal protective equipment comply with one ore more European Standards and may be used throughout the European Union.

Some materials tests can be carried out in our own laboratory in order to check the quality or to find the best solution for materials assemblies.

The main focus of the company's activities is customer-specific consulting, which brings legal requirements into line with the customer needs.

		The QM-system according to ISO 9001 implemented in the company ensures complete traceability and high quality standards not only in production but also in administration.
		ALWIT promises to manufacture PPE of high quality that exceeds the requirements of European Standards. As a member of the DuPont™ Nomex® Partner Program, we have access to DuPont fibre and fabric innovation, technical expertise and leading edge product testing facilities. All of our products must undergo rigorous testing to prove that they meet/exceed the standard quality criteria, that they meet end user specific needs, contain the latest innovations of Nomex® fabric, are delivered at an impeccable service level and have origins clearly traceable through the DuPont value chain. End users should look for certified Nomex® fabrics, which carry distinctive labels on the garment to be sure their safety equipment and clothing is from a reputable supplier they can trust.

 

ALWIT offers specially organised workshops and seminars to its partners and customers to share specific know-how.

Managing Director and senior partner Siegfried Assmann is a member of various National, European and International Standard Committees on heat and flame protective PPE, and transfers his gained knowledge into the development of products.

ALWIT is using its role as impulse generator for the market on order to guarantee safety at dangerous working places.
